Since updating to Windows 8.1 x64 I have encountered the following problem when my laptop wakes from sleep – my screen would be black for a couple of seconds – then I would get this notification: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered.

Given that this was not an issue before updating to Windows 8.1 I started looking for alternative drivers to install.
I was unable to install the new Intel Windows 8.1 Beta driver because my ‘legacy’ hardware is no longer supported. After trying a different Intel driver I headed over to the Dell website and downloaded the two most recent Windows 8 x64 Intel Video drivers. If you are also experiencing this issue I would recommend simply downloading the Windows 8 drivers from your manufacturers website.
