Rather than encoding my movies to other formats I prefer to just use iso images (because it saves a lot of time). The problem is that when iso images are viewed through Windows Media Center they look quite ugly – and there is no supporting metadata, such as synopsis or IMDB rating.
Yammm (Yet Another Media Meta Manager) provides a solution to this problem. Installation is straight-forward, but will not complete until you configure the application:
On the Library tab click Include a folder and browse to the folder containing your .iso files on your media center.
When you have configured these settings click Save and then Exit and the Yammm installation will complete.
I had issues trying to get Yammm working on network shares on my Home Server so I installed Yammm on my desktop PC so that I could download the artwork and meta data before transferring files to my Home Server.
Update: As you can see from the screenshots I installed version 1.0.3533 when I wrote this post. This version of YAMMM stopped working on Tuesday April 27th 2010. The reasons for this are explained on the Mikinho site where you can also download version 1.0.3770 which is working. You will need to uninstall YAMMM and then install the newer version to get it working again.
